Facebook to Add More Easter Eggs That can be Unlocked by Typing Special Words
CuriousBytes: You might be aware of the animations that are displayed on Facebook when you type words like “Congrats” and “xoxo”. Now Facebook is adding more words to the list of these special words that will reveal or play hidden animations or Facebook Easter eggs
Facebook is rapidly pushing new features to its users. It has introduced features like Stories, a second news feed called Explore feed, colourful status updates with backgrounds, Profile Guard and games inside messenger etc.
Apart from these features that were officially announced, Facebook has quietly launched few other features that got wide traction among users. Have you ever typed the words “Congrats” and “XOXO” in any of the comments or in your status updates?
If yes then you might have observed some lovely animations popping on your mobile or desktop screen. If you haven’t seen them, then you should be probably trying it now. We are sure you would love them. These are part of Facebook’s Text Delight feature or facebook Easter eggs.
It’s been quite some time and the social networking giant is experimenting with these features. The latest news is that the list of such words is going to get big.
So far the list is limited to few words, Congratulations, Xoxo and congrats. When you type them in comments these words appear as a different colour and clicking on them triggers plays a cute animation (balloons, ribbons or hearts, for example.)
According to a report from Mashable, Facebook is now going to add more words like “rad,” “bff,” “lmao,” and “thank you so much.” Each of them will have their animations and colours.
In addition to that, it is also updating the animations associated with reactions to “life events,” like engagements and weddings. Now when you react to a “life event” you will see all the reactions of the post popping out over the post.
This is something similar to reactions you see floating in Facebook Live broadcast. It seems like Facebook is looking to turn the app into more playful and engaging place with colourful animations.
These new features will really look good and share more fun in using the app. This will make users depend less on memes and GIFs to express their reactions. Now, the Text Delights might replace them in future. Already the addition of colourfull backgrounds in status updates is on its way in attracting people to share more.

People are now posing updates more frequently with these backgrounds and addition of the above features might add more engagement in the form of comments.
